2010-2011 SGA Officers:
President: Jessica Plonka
The president is the primary contact between the student body and all administration and faculty personnel at Argosy. The President sets the agenda and runs all SGA officer meetings and full senate meetings. The president attends Faculty Council meetings and Administrative Council meetings, and also meets individually with the President of the University, Vice-President of Academic Affairs, and Director of Student Services on a regular basis in order to advocate for student concerns and positions. The president works closely with each SGA officer. As the primary contact for SGA, the president is also a liaison between campus committees (Diversity, Student Affairs, Curriculum Committee, etc.) and the SGA and student body. The president, in conjunction with the three SGA VPs, is also responsible for responding to any student concern brought to the attention of the SGA as a whole.
VP of Communications: Stacey Collar
Responsible for recording the minutes of the executive board and full Senate meetings, publicizes and promotes school events and issues to the student body via posters, flyers, and email. Also, the VP organizes and maintains the SGA.net website. The VP of Communications works closely with the President to promote the SGA agenda.
VP of Finance: Yaoming Pei
Finance responsibilities include, but are not limited to: formulating and maintaining the budget, processing student group requests for funds, managing the conference reimbursement program and providing support to the other officers as needed. The VP of Finance is responsible for all financial matters concerning SGA. The VP of Finance works closely with the SGA president.
VP of Student Affairs: Samar Harfi
Organizes all social functions for the SGA on behalf of the student body i.e., student forums, town meetings, and other social events. Assures equal rights and privileges to all students regardless of personal differences of any kind. Acts as interim president should the president be unable to fulfill duties, and act as a member on at least one school committee (i.e., student affairs committee, diversity committee, curriculum committee, etc.).
